Having over 25 years’ experience as a Business owner Therapist, and over 30 as a coach, trainer and mentor, to not just therapist, but also to 1000s of business and sales teams throughout Europe.
It is from first-hand experience that I know the majority of therapists and coaches do not have what could be called thriving practises or businesses. Many have to hold down another job or profession to make it work, in fact many if you ask them, “would you like to do this full time and earn enough to meet and exceed your needs would you?” The reply is generally that they would love to, it is their dream.
My mission is to change that, giving therapists and coaches the tools, knowledge and support to achieve those dreams
I come from very humble beginnings, which is a nice way of saying extremely poor. One of the ways to improve your life, get out of a life of poverty was to join the British Army. Which I promptly did and signed on the dotted line at the great age of 16.
When I left the forces and started my own therapy practise, I could not of wished for it going any better. Unfortunately as I hit over 6 figures for several years there was a major gap in my education. That was called the VAT, after paying it all I was left pretty broke.
So I looked at sales, and was swept up in the idea of easy money, my plan being quite simple earn enough and restart my therapy business.
I stormed my first job, and looking at the grass is greener, I moved on, soon to discover that the whole ethos was run by dinosaurs (I could not give the product away letter alone sell it). However the most valuable lesson I learnt from it was I vowed never to get stuck in the past if there are better solutions in the present.
It shocks me (but doesn't surprise me) how many of the 'Gurus' out there are still stuck in the syndrome of well it worked 30 years ago. I may feel as old as a dinosaur sometimes, my first business was in the era of connecting to the internet was always proceeded by a whole series of whistles and pops and a 5 minute wait to see the message 'failed connection.'
Part of the excitement of running a business is finding new things that work, and sometimes mixing them with prior knowledge creates something truly fantastic.
Oh Look Another Course
Moving on, in 1995 I became a professional sales person with the earnings to match. I started back into therapies, but that squawking on my shoulder kept telling me that I really needed to do another course as I really wasn't good enough! So like many coaches and therapist out there I have a long list of 3 and 4 letters that I can put after my name.
Why become a Coach?
It was really a combination of things and a evolution of knowledge and expertise that I had acquired over my lifetime. I now had built three businesses and was running all three.
A Therapy business turning over annually in excess of 6 figures.
A Sales Coaching business turning over in excess of 6 figures annually.
A Consultancy business turning over in excess of 7 figures annually.
Bragging? NO, but I do not just talk the talk, I also have walked the walk.
What could possibly go wrong????
Don't Worry it Will be Fine
Simply put I lost everything, all by simply ignoring one piece of advice I told everyone. But aren't many of us like that? Fantastic at giving advice, but forget to follow it ourselves sometimes?
That work life balance, that makes it all worth while. Long story short I collapsed in the street, which then was 6 months of in and out of hospital. My marriage collapsed, and after all of that, I can out the other end, wiser, poorer (Yes in a monetary sense) and on my own.
So with the grand total of a clock radio, and enough money left to rent the most dank, damp and dark place on the market I went forth and decided then and there my future.
So, taking everything I had learned from sales, being a therapist. Taking all my experience and knowledge from running 3 successful business. Taking all that pain and heartbreak from constantly starting over. What could I do with it?
One big caveat was that what ever my future held, Life Work Balance was going to be the key stone.
What I did was create a system that allows us to take a passion and create a business out of it.
A system that has been proven time and time again.
A system that takes the pain and the frustration out of marketing and sales and make it all as easy as talking to your best friend.
A system that takes you from A to Z without the fluff and overwhelm.
The main differences between myself and many of my peers, is that not only have I lived and breathed the same issues and problems as you.
Not just in life but also in business, it allows me to cut the fluff, as I have walked the walk. Those life experiences and the lessons learned from them has allowed me to pass on that knowledge in simple and easy to understand language. Meaning that I have made the mistakes in the past so you do not have to, then found the solutions, so one again you do not have to.
Where technology is concerned, if we look at something as simple as typing on a computer keyboard. As self-taught in technology, the one fingered typist is the best description, I show my clients how to use the basics in easy, as much fun as possible, in an understandable way, because I learnt the hard way, by myself!
